The box:
Beautiful, heavily and deeply carved wood box, 
with removable center divider. It is carved on 
top and all four sides with nature symbols - 
leaves, vines, flowers. Believed to be antique, 
from the aesthetic movement period or Arabia. 
Not sure of the particular type of wood, but 
my guess would be either rosewood or mahogany. 
The inside of the lid has a three dimensional 
oval recess in the center which is particularly 
attractive. The box is hinged, and the hinges 
appear to be brass.

NOTE: It has a tight age crack on the bottom, 
and one on the front (see photos). Still a 
very sound piece in generally nice condition. 
Mostly, the top needs a thorough dusting.
